Irene Milián: "Let women entrepreneurs go out in the media makes the market and society more balanced"

High. From Altea, entrepreneur Irene Milián started a project four years ago as a strategic personal brand digital business consultant. Through his online school he conducts training in this field, which he discovered as essential to help his clients write their strategy successfully. Alicante has consolidated a community of more than 10,000 followers and worked with more than 1000 women entrepreneurs in its business and sales strategy. As an entrepreneur and trainer, Alicante Plaza talks to Milián on International Women Entrepreneur Day to learn about data and context about the work of women in business and also the need for public visibility of their messages. In addition, Milián will be at Valencia Activa's 2021 Women Entrepreneurship Day, which seeks to highlight success stories of top level entrepreneurs to inspire other women.

Is there a gap in entrepreneurship between men and women? If so, how could it change?

Irene Milián:

I think that in entrepreneurship, in digital in this case, which is mine and where I have experience, the gap between men and women is getting smaller and smaller, especially when compared to the workplace, where reaching positions of responsibility is still much more complicated for women.

For me, it happens that, without wanting to generalize, we observe that women have more modesty, more fears and more blockages when positioning their brand and working consistently their personal brand. It is true that many women combine entrepreneurship with conciliation, and here we do continue to observe that the issue of children falls far more on women and this means that they can invest less time and energy also in the positioning of their brand.

Once they have already worked their personal brand everything is already more fluid; with a good position we see many great references both women and men, although obviously there are still many more referents men in the world of entrepreneurship than women. Although, I think the tendency is for that gap to be minimized and more and more even.

Is it easy to embark from Altea or the province of Alicante, in general?

I chose Altea, in particular El Mascarat, because it is a site that has a very special energy to connect with your creativity and your essence. I feel like as an entrepreneur I came to this place with a lot of confusion, with rather forced health and I was looking for a corner where I could find a more calm energy, more tranquility. I came temporarily for three months and in the end it caught me, I felt that my ideas rested better, the ecosystem here, with a lot of enterprising people around Altea with whom I created a small family of digital entrepreneurs.
