While the tiger motif may not be new to Gucci designs, the luxury fashion house has released a reinterpretation of an archival design from the late 1960s.

"A connection is formed between the house's past and present with the blend of the contemporary tiger and the collection's logo print," Gucci said in a press release.

Gucci Tiger, a new collection

In honor of the Chinese zodiac and the year of the tiger, which begins on February 1, 2022, Gucci launched a collection of more than 80 ready-to-wear pieces and accessories for both men and women.

The Tiger collection is a signature of Michele, reworking the design upon his arrival at the House of Gucci in 2015. Gucci Tiger is an archival design, originated by Italian artist and illustrator Vittorio Accornero in the late 1960s, which also created the house's signature Floral, a design implemented as the backdrop for the current Tiger collection.

The collection includes garments and a wide variety of accessories such as shoes, handbags, bags, watches and silk scarves.

Gucci, caretaker of nature

Since February 2020, Gucci, through the Lion's Share Fund, has been working to preserve natural habitats and protect endangered species.

Nature, wildlife and its inhabitants were the concern of the luxury brand for 100 years, becoming carbon neutral throughout its supply chain in 2018.
