Stimulus Check today December 30: Payment of Child Tax Credit, Medicare, Cola 2022, IRS and new Christmas surprise checks

The United States government chose to take several measures to help the population cope with the economic problems caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which were sent from 2020 and 2021.

The third stimulus check, as well as several benefits approved by the Joe Biden government, are still in force and some will continue to arrive in 2022, so we review all of their details and the surprise payments that are on the way.

With the fourth stimulus check in the air, several states chose to provide their own economic impact payments that have been approved since July and have a deadline of December 31.

In Maine, $285 in one-time disaster payments go to more than half a million Maine residents.

The Golden State Stimulus Check awards $500 dollars or $1,100 dollars to its residents as well as $600 dollars to those who benefited from the first round.

In Maryland, the beneficiaries will be the families, who will have an increase of up to $1,100 dollars. In Florida, the payment is $1,000 dollars for educators.

Child Tax Credit update: how much and when they pay

The Child Tax Credit will have its last payment on December 15, in which the $300 dollars will arrive for children under six years of age and $250 for dependents between 6 and 18 years of age, to complete half of the payments of $3,600 and $3,000 that were approved.

In addition, there will be a payment of $1,800 for parents who applied for the aid in a single payment and were able to register with the IRS before October 15.

2022 COLA Payment Increases

Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) payments are part of the Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits paid to approximately 70 million Americans.

The amount received by eligible citizens will increase by 5.9 percent in 2022, while the increase in payments to approximately eight million SSI recipients will begin on December 30.

When does the 2021 IRS tax refund end?

If the tax return was filed, the IRS has a period of 45 days to process it, if the refund is not granted within that time, the corresponding interest is added and paid. Taxpayers will receive the interest payment by direct deposit into their bank account.

Medicare is the US Department of Health's federal health insurance program that serves citizens age 65 and older, younger people with disabilities, and people with End-Stage Renal Disease. To join, you can go to any doctor or health care provider who is enrolled in Medicare.

So far the fourth stimulus check is in the air as congressmen and the president are focused on passing laws to seek to keep the economy more stable. Despite pressure from citizens, it is not expected to be approved in the last month.

Another federal benefit program to consider is the Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program. With this, adults and children with a disability or with resources below certain thresholds can receive monthly payments to help meet basic needs for food, clothing and shelter.

While there is no new federal support, several states have implemented stimulus checks of their own.

The grants begin to be sent while others have a deadline to be sent until December 31 of this year. This is the list of each of the 50 states to know the requirements of the benefits that they will be sending and if they are eligible in the month of October.

Alabama Stimulus Check:

In this state it is difficult for aid such as a stimulus check to exist, but recently Governor Kay Ivey has enacted numerous bills that will pave the way for the construction of new prisons.

Alaska Stimulus Check:

Citizens of this state can receive financial support through the Federal-State Extended Benefit program, although this is only possible for certain residents.

Arizona Stimulus Check:

Gov. Doug Ducey has proposed using coronavirus relief funds to boost job creation with the Return to Work program, which will be a one-time payment of $1,000 to the unemployed who take a part-time job or another job. $2,000 for those who work full time

Arkansas Stimulus Check:

In Arkansas, financial aid has been complicated, due to the legal battle with its own residents over the end of federal benefits. So there will be no more help at the moment.

North Carolina Stimulus Check:

There is currently no information outside of North Carolina regarding stimulus payments and other forms of financial aid.

South Carolina Stimulus Check:

South Carolina is among the slowest states in terms of recovering from COVID, but no additional relief has been announced.

California Stimulus Check:

In California, if the economic support called Golden State Stimulus Check continues, they have implemented a new stimulus check for residents. This payment is $500 to $600 or $1,100 for all residents earning between $30,000 and $75,000 a year, and another $500 for households with dependent children. These payments began on September 17.

The second round of payments began this October 5 and 6, which are paper check payments that will be sent to the postal addresses of the beneficiaries. The second round will be sent on October 31 where most beneficiaries will be covered.

Connecticut Stimulus Check:

Connecticut's "Return to Work" plan involved the provision of a $1,000 check to eligible claimants who return to the workforce after eight weeks without unemployment, as announced by Governor Ned Lamont in September 2021.

Colorado Stimulus Check:

People who received at least one unemployment payment between March 15, 2020 and October 24, 2020, will receive $375. However, those with higher incomes who qualified for more than 500 per week in employment benefits will not be eligible.

Delaware Stimulus Check:

The government has launched a campaign for people who do not normally file federal income tax returns to watch their mailbox for a letter from the IRS notifying them that they may qualify for a federal Economic Impact Payment (EIP) .

North Dakota Stimulus Check:

In August 2021, the US Department of Education gave North Dakota the green light to use American Rescue Plan funds to support K-12 schools and students, with $101 million allocated to the state in this area.

South Dakota Stimulus Check:

South Dakota was the only state to opt out of the federally funded $300 weekly unemployment benefit, in the form of Assistance for Lost Wages, which was issued for up to six weeks beginning in August.

Florida Stimulus Check:

In Florida, teachers and administrators were assigned a payment of $1,000, but the authorization is in development.

Georgia Stimulus Check:

In Georgia, the aid is for all full-time teachers and administrators who will get $1,000, while those who are only part-time will get $500.

Hawaii Stimulus Check:

Lawmakers sought to offer $2,200 to teachers, but Gov. David Ige vetoed it, saying lawmakers did not have the authority to instruct the Education Department on how to use the federal money.

Iaho Stimulus Check :

According to Boise State Public Radio, some Idaho residents are expected to receive a one-time tax refund in the coming months.

Illinois Stimulus Check:

Renters and homeowners in Illinois who qualify for the scheme can apply for one-time grants of up to $25,000.

Indiana Stimulus Check:

After a legal battle, the government decided to continue sending federal unemployment benefits to eligible citizens.

Iowa Stimulus Check:

Iowa families were set to start receiving their child tax credit checks in mid-July, but the $1,000 "back to work" payments were put on hold over the summer.

Kansas Stimulus Check:

According to Internal Revenue Service records, the state of Kansas refused, returned, or failed to cash more than $17 million in stimulus checks (12,921 checks) .

Kentucky Stimulus Check:

Local reports suggest new stimulus payments could be distributed in Kentucky due to a dramatic increase in jobless claims.

Louisiana Stimulus Check:

Unemployment has skyrocketed in Louisiana, largely due to the recent Hurricane Ida, and requests for additional unemployment assistance are increasing, however, no official word has been given in terms of amounts or payment dates.

Maine Stimulus Check:

Maine is one of the states that doesn't appear to be planning another round of stimulus payments before the end of the year.

New Mexico Stimulus Check:

The state is facing plans to dole out $5 million to all residents who didn't get federal payments.

Maryland Stimulus Check:

Here, stimulus payments of $500 have been approved for families and $300 for people who applied for the Earned Income Tax Credit. Additionally, state and local taxes on unemployment benefits have been repealed. About $700 million has been set aside for farmworkers and meatpackers, and about $20 million will go to grocery store workers, with funding provided by the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021.

Massachusetts Stimulus Check:

It looks like Massachusetts is not going to get another stimulus payment, as much of the coronavirus relief money in recent months has gone to areas like housing.

Minnesota Stimulus Check:

Some 116,000 Minnesotans are being called to register to receive their COVID-19 stimulus check for up to $1,200.

Missouri Stimulus Check:

Missouri families in the low-income category who are unemployed as a result of COVID-19 are now entitled to a temporary Child Care Subsidy benefit

Michigan Stimulus Check:

$500 teacher pay bonuses have been sent in this state.

Mississippi Stimulus Check:

Mississippi was one of the first states where unemployment benefit stimulus payments ended early and there are currently no plans to pay out more stimulus checks. This is one of the states where a new round of payments seems unlikely.

Montana Stimulus Check:

Funding from Montana's portion of the March federal coronavirus relief bill will go toward a variety of local infrastructure projects, including 86 water and sewer projects across the state.

Nebraska Stimulus Check:

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) has allocated $1,099,058 to the state of Nebraska, although it has not been updated in the last month whether new financial assistance will be provided to residents in need.

New York Stimulus Check:

A fund of 2.1 billion dollars has been implemented here for all undocumented workers. To qualify, you must be a resident of the state and have earned less than $26,208 in 2020. In addition, the New York City Corps of Artists will support local artists in the form of a one-time payment to be distributed in October.

Nevada Stimulus Check:

The Child Tax Credit sees between $3,000 and $3,600 per child given to almost all working families in Nevada. Half of the credit is being paid out in monthly payments, which began in July and will continue until December 2021.

New Hampshire Stimulus Check:

Families without an economic support receive a subsidy worth 1,086 dollars a month.

New Jersey Stimulus Check :

A fourth stimulus check is not expected in New Jersey, but residents could be entitled to $500 tax refunds.

Ohio Stimulus Check:

In September, the state of Ohio announced that $46 million would be allocated to support students in need, with scholarships ranging from $250 to $3,000.

Oklahoma Stimulus Check:

The Oklahoma State Department of Education will allocate $13 million of its COVID-19 relief money to pay student teachers.

Oregon Stimulus Check:

There have been no new updates since August on COVID-19 related relief funds for Oregonians.

Pennsylvania Stimulus Check:

Pennsylvania is not among the states that have given additional stimulus payments or relief money to its residents.

Rhode Island Stimulus Check:

Rhode Island workers are hoping Congress can deliver legislation that would provide a fourth $1,400 stimulus check to Social Security recipients.

Texas Stimulus Check:

Fort Worth and Arlington decided to increase the salary of district employees by four percent, while Denton and Mansfile by two percent. At Irving, a $2,000 payment will be given to staff who return to the classroom in September.

Tennessee Stimulus Check:

$1,000 checks will be sent to all teachers, these will be labeled hazard pay bonuses. Part-time teachers will receive $500.

Utah Stimulus Check:

In July, it was announced that Utah households received the most valuable stimulus checks in the third round of payments, with the average check worth $2,784.

Vermont Stimulus Check:

Vermont is trying to incentivize people to move to its state by offering to reimburse up to $7,500 in moving expenses

West Virginia Stimulus Check:

There are more than $7,700 unclaimed stimulus checks in this state, so a check on your own is not considered at this time.

Washington Stimulus Check:

Despite calls for a fourth round of checks in Washington, the state has cooled talk of that possibility.

Wisconsin Stimulus Check:

In Wisconsin, the expanded federal child tax credit will supplement the families of more than 1.15 million children who will receive the money, and as a result, an estimated 46,000 families will rise above the federal poverty line.

Wyoming Stimulus Check:

Wyoming suspended its additional relief in the summer of 2021.
