Real Madrid and Barcelona, admitted by UEFA to play the next Champions

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus have been admitted by UEFA to play the next Champions League. This is reflected in UEFA's communications to the respective national federations with equipment included in the 2021 / 22 season.

The letters sent to real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus to play the next Champions League are unrelated to the Superliga disciplinary procedure and are standard communications sent by UEFA to accepted clubs to play their competitions.

UEFA sources confirmed this Tuesday that the communication has no bearing on the disciplinary process affecting the three clubs and that it is "suspended" for the time being.

"they are nothing more than an administrative document in response to their request to be in the competition; to qualify through their performance in their national League and to obtain a license to play in our competitions from their Federation," the agency said.

On 9 November, UEFA announced the temporary suspension of the case to the three clubs, pending a ruling by the Court of Justice of the European Union on the question referred to it by the Madrid Commercial Court No. 17 on possible abuse of UEFA's dominant position in the Superliga case.

The same court, in response to the complaints of the clubs, had previously issued precautionary measures preventing the adoption of sanctions against the teams and their players during the proceedings.

Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, classified through their national competitions for the Champions, are the only ones who have not officially taken the final decision to abandon the project known as the European Superliga, which is why the possibility of a penalty to prevent them from playing this competition was even raised.
