The firm that created casual Fridays

How to update clothes to make life a little easier? That is the question asked in Dockers season after season, since its foundation in 1986. It didn't take long when they made history, back in 1992, sending an eight-page guide on informal business clothing to 25,000 human resources managers across the United States. In this way they created the concept of 'casual Friday', revolutionising the dress code, in force today.

The innovation for which they first became known in the textile sector was significantly expanded with the 'Mobile Pant', a garment named by the magazine 'time' as one of the best inventions of 2001, being one of the first pants designed with additional zipper pockets along the seams. Practicality and comfort for a piece that, like the rest of the brand's garments, boasts a casual style, Californian air and conscious clothing.

They take into account the impact of their work on the environment, committing themselves to innovate and explore our production methods so that they can operate more sustainably without compromising style. Today, they save more than 20 million litres of water in a single season by using 'water less' techniques in 63% of the assortment, which has helped save more than 3 billion litres. In addition, last season they added hemp to their tissue chart as a durable and totally natural fiber that is manufactured with fewer chemicals and pesticides. They are also investing in organic cotton, which is grown more responsibly, reducing the amount of water and toxic chemicals used in the process, as well as incorporating their own recycled nylon and polyester, finding new ways to provide elasticity and yield, all with less impact. In addition, strategic collaborations with ambassadors like Jon rose and his' waves for Water 'foundation, or with the Basque surfer, traveler and activist Kepa Acero, help provide clean drinking water to communities around the world.

This year was also very significant for the firm for two reasons: the launch of its first collection of women and its first shop of its own in Europe, located in the heart of the Madrid neighborhood of Salamanca. On the premises there is a wide range of pants with premium finishes, new lighter fabrics, patterns and colors, a wide offer in shirts, T-shirts and knitting clothes, the reinterpretation of some of the brand's most iconic garments, and an exclusive space dedicated to women's garments. More than a store, an innovation laboratory that allows you to create new experiences, offer new services, collaborations and much more.

This season is a tribute to the brand's trajectory, recovering authentic designs so that they make sense to the current market. They embrace his legacy and celebrate the khaki pants that marked dockers' history. Taken from the archives and faithfully stitched by stitch, the original Khakis are an exact reproduction of the khakis they launched in 1986. A true testimony of his legacy and proof that there are certain aesthetics that can have a versatile and timeless appeal.
